Skin Conditions

We see a wide range of skin conditions including acne, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, hives, rashes and many other conditions.  We consider skin health as a reflection of the body’s internal health.  Many of these conditions arise from problems with digestive inflammation, hormonal detoxification, and chronic stress.  We work with patients to identify the underlying cause of their skin issue and then encourage the skin to heal using natural therapeutics.

Testing

Certain foods in your diet may be causing digestive inflammation and also skin irritation.  Hormone imbalances can also cause acne, rosacea and other skin conditions.  Bacterial or fungal overgrowth in the gut can also cause skin problems such as seborrheic dermatitis or “dandruff.”  Food sensitivity testing, hormone testing and microbiome testing can all be helpful to identify the underlying cause of a person’s skin condition.

Our Holistic Approach

Rather than treating skin symptoms with creams and medications alone, our approach focuses on calming inflammation from the inside out.  Because skin conditions like eczema, acne, and psoriasis often share overlapping root causes, addressing the gut, hormones, and inflammation together tends to bring more lasting relief than treating the skin alone.

We look at stress and lifestyle factors, since both can worsen inflammation and disrupt the skin’s natural healing process.  Assessing all the contributing factors helps build a personalized plan.
