Metabolic conditions occur when the body has trouble converting food into energy, storing it, and keeping blood sugar, hormones, and fats in balance. They often develop gradually and tend to show up together. Common examples include insulin resistance, pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, weight gain (especially around the midsection), high cholesterol and triglycerides, and high blood pressure or hypertension. When several of these occur together it’s called Metabolic Syndrome.
Over time, this can drive inflammation, fat storage, hormone imbalance, and increased strain on the heart, liver, and kidneys. Because the early signs are easy to dismiss, metabolic conditions often go unaddressed for years.
Metabolic Testing
Standard labs often stop at fasting glucose and a basic cholesterol panel, which can miss early metabolic changes. We go deeper into the markers that show how your body is handling blood sugar and fat, including fasting insulin, hemoglobin A1c, and advanced lipid markers that give a more complete picture of cardiovascular risk than total and LDL cholesterol alone. Looking at these together can reveal imbalances years before they show up as a diagnosis.
We also offer support with a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), a small wearable sensor that tracks your blood sugar throughout the day and night. Seeing how specific meals, exercise, stress, and sleep affect your glucose in real time helps you and your provider fine-tune your nutrition and lifestyle plan around what works for your body.
Our Holistic Approach
Many patients come to us without a clear explanation of why their metabolism is struggling. Others have been managed with medications that bring numbers down but don’t address what is driving them.
Our holistic approach aims to look at the whole picture, including blood sugar regulation, hormones, gut health, stress, sleep, and inflammation, to identify why your metabolism has become imbalanced so you can reduce your long-term risk.
