In order to see a complete picture of thyroid health it is important to know the following lab values: TSH, free T4, free T3, and thyroid antibodies.  Low thyroid can often be due to an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.  For this reason, testing auto-antibodies specific to the thyroid is imperative.  Testing adrenal gland function may also be indicated for thyroid conditions.
