What can I expect from my first visit?
First office consultations are typically 90 minutes. Your naturopathic doctor will take a detailed history of your health complaints, discuss lab work if indicated, and provide a naturopathic plan for addressing your health concerns. If you have already had tests done, please bring a copy of your most recent lab work to your first appointment.
Do naturopathic doctors work with other health care providers?
Yes. Naturopathic doctors work with all other branches of medical science including referring to medical doctors, specialists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists and other practitioners when indicated. We believe that each health care profession can provide valuable care and by working together we can deliver the highest quality of care possible.
Does Boulder Natural Health accept insurance?
No. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept insurance at this time. We do offer our clients a superbill with ICD-10 codes that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement after your appointment.
What type of training does a naturopathic doctor receive?
A licensed naturopathic doctor (N.D.) is one who attended a Department of Education accredited, four-year, graduate level naturopathic medical school, and successfully passed a series of rigorous, medical board exams, so that he or she may be licensed by a state or jurisdiction as a primary care general practice doctor. All of the doctors at our clinic are registered naturopathic doctors in the state of Colorado and licensed naturopathic doctors in the state of Washington or Oregon.
The curriculum in naturopathic medical school parallels that of conventional medical school including 4 years of basic and clinical science education. In addition to learning the standard of care in medicine, naturopathic doctors take additional coursework in clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, psychology, counseling, and other holistic approaches to health care.
What payment methods do you accept?
